DiaUnion’s Ground-Breaking New Multiplex Analysis Methods Presented at DDEA Symposium

On May 2-3, the symposium Translating Biomarkers Into Clinical Endocrinology – Analytes, Assays and Algorithms was held. The Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy symposium was arranged in collaboration with DiaUnion and Medicon Valley Alliance.

Alexander Lind, postdoc in DiaUnion presented the ground-breaking new multiplex assay analysis methods being used in DiaUnion 1.5.

By the use of novel multiplex assays, autoantibody screening for 6 autoantibodies can be done in one go. This means that all of the three diseases of DiaUnion 1.5, type 1 diabetes, celiac disease and autoimmune thyroiditis, are screened for in a single lab proces, which saves time, cost and human resources. Combining multiplex assays with lab automation, such as a pipette robot, analyzes that earlier took a week to complete, can in DiaUnion 1.5 now be done in one day.
