Early Detection, Better Outcomes – A European Call to Action on Type 1 Diabetes

On November 4, DiaUnion is on the program at the high-level event in Brussels “Early Detection, Better Outcomes: Addressing Unmet Needs in Type 1 Diabetes”, organized by the European Diabetes Forum (EUDF) and EDENT1FI, under the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2025. The session will be opened by MEP Stine Bosse and chaired by Prof. Chantal Mathieu.

Early detection holds the potential to change the course of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). At the event Finn Stensbjerg Kristensen will present DiaUnion as one of the key cross-border initiatives in Europe, and he will share the Scandinavian perspective under the headline: Research and early detection as a basis for early intervention and disease interception.

We’re excited to travel to Brussels alongside our partners from ‘Alliancen for T1Dlig opsporing’. This Alliance for Early Detection of T1D was launched at hashtag#FMDK earlier this year, uniting Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, Diabetesforeningen, Type1 – think tank for type 1 diabetes, Sanofi and Medicon Valley Alliance.

Together with EUDF and EDENT1FI, we look forward to joining policymakers, researchers, and people living with T1D to accelerate efforts around early detection, innovative research, and public health solutions.
