Recruitment for the DiaUnion 2.0 TRIAD study in Sweden kicks off

This week, the first 1,000 invitation letters are going out to families in Region Skåne, inviting children aged 2-14 to be screened for their risk of developing type 1 diabetes, celiac disease, and autoimmune thyroid disease.

Why participate?

  • Early detection can prevent complications – these diseases often develop without clear symptoms, and early screening allows for timely intervention.
  • The study is simple and free – A quick blood test is taken at home and sent in using pre-provided materials.
  • Each child’s participation supports vital research – TRIAD is part of DiaUnion, contributing to new knowledge about disease development and future treatment strategies.

In Sweden the study is lead by Daniel Agardh who is on the picture with Alexander Lind – and the 1000 letters at Lund University Clinical Research Center Malmö (CRC).

In Denmark inviations are going out from Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen via e-Boks, with a focus on recruiting first degree relatives (1-40 years) to those living with type 1 diabetes.
