DiaUnion was pleased to co-host this special event together with the Alliance for Early Detection of T1D at Folkemødet on 11 June 2026.
Liv Martine Hansen, known from The Great Bake Off Denmark, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 24 and has since experienced many of the myths and misconceptions surrounding the disease firsthand. It was a unique and personal conversation about life with type 1 diabetes when she and Mette Blomsterberg reunited in the kitchen, joined by a strong panel of experts and policymakers: Tanja Thybo (Diabetesforeningen), Lars Gaardhøj (Capital Region of Denmark), and Jesper Johannesen (Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen).
Together, the panel discussed how we can improve life for children and families living with type 1 diabetes – and what new opportunities for early detection could mean for those at risk.
The event was organised by Alliancen for T1Dlig Opsporing, which includes Diabetesforeningen, Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, Sanofi, DiaUnion and Medicon Valley Alliance.
