DiaUnion invites you to the symposium

Screening for Type 1 Diabetes

and related autoimmune diseases

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Effective from October 1, 2024 new diagnosis codes will be incorporated, whereby the early stages of type 1 diabetes (before symptoms occur) are recognized as a disease and can be diagnosed.

Type 1 diabetes is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases. The disease places a lifelong burden on the patient and the immediate family and triggers significant societal costs.

Through the early detection of people at risk of type 1 diabetes, there is a prospect that new drugs can delay, and in the long term perhaps completely stop, the development of the disease. Establishing screening programs is a critical task and currently constitutes a bottleneck for the identification of persons at risk and thus also for the development of new medicines.

The Swedish/Danish DiaUnion 1.5 research project aims to create the necessary infrastructure for detecting type 1 diabetes in southern Sweden and Denmark.

The event is open to scientists, health professionals, industry, health politicians, patients/relatives and others with an interest in type 1 diabetes.
The event is held in English.
